🔥Overview: Bill HR7521 -  has bipartisan support, was past out of committee unanimously on 3/7, and is being fast tracked onto the house floor, March 13th. Under the DOE, it would empower the President to shutdown technology companies that he alone deems a "threat to national security". Forcing an outright ban from app stores and web hosting services in the U.S. It sets a precedent for censorship, and could potentially exclude companies such as Meta and Google, while targeting the likes of TikTok, X, Rumble, Truth, Pilled.net, etc. Essentially, it would be left up to the executive branch's discretion.

🔥Why It Matters: This act infringes upon the 1st and 4th Amendments, threatening free speech and privacy. It's framed as protecting Americans, however it simply gives the president unfettered access to silence any social media platform it deems as a threat or "foreign adversary controlled".
